CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The 39th annual Terry Fox run will be held in Charlottetown on Sunday, Sept. 15 at Victoria Park. 

As usual, the event will feature 1 km, 5 km and 10 km loops around Victoria Park and nearby streets.

These routes are open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. 

There is no cost to participate and all funds are used to fund cancer research in Canada.

Registration begins at noon at the pavilion near the Victoria Park tennis courts. 

U-Fit founder Gord MacNeally will lead participants in a warm up at 12:30 p.m. and the event begins at 1 p.m.

In 1980, a young man started out on a journey that would change the lives of millions. Over the years, Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope have inspired people across this vast nation to work together and find a cure for cancer. But the journey he began is far from over as his courage and determination continues to motivate people around the world to run and walk to raise funds for cancer research each year.
