SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — The Summerside Arts Festival has announced the performance lineup for its evening concerts in July.

Concerts and performances run July 22-24 on the lawn of the Wyatt Heritage Properties in the city’s downtown historic residential district.

On July 22, The Ellis Family band and singer-songwriter Daniel Drouin will take the stage.

Drouin released his first feature-length solo album in 2017 and won cover band/artist of the year at the 2019 Music P.E.I. Awards. The Ellis Family Band has received multiple Canadian Country Music Awards and Juno nominations during a career that spans more than 40 years.

Soul Filter and Rachel Beck will be on stage for the July 23 performances. Beck, who released her self-titled debut in 2018, won new artist of the year and pop recording of the year at the 2019 Music P.E.I. Awards. Karen and Mike Penton formed Soul Filter in 2017 after 16 years of performing in cover bands. They released their debut album, “A Minor Conspiracy”, in December 2018 and in February they were voted into the top 100 in CBC’s Searchlight 2019 with their song “Like Water.”

The final evening, The Nathan Wiley Band and Nick Doneff will end the July performances.

Doneff, who has become a staple within the P.E.I. music scene as a sideman and multi-instrumentalist, released his debut recording in 2016. Wiley is a three-time East Coast Music Award and five-time Music P.E.I. award winning performer who has shared the stage with artists like Blue Rodeo, Ron Sexsmith, Steve Earle and Matt Mays.

Other components of the Summerside Arts Festival include the Refresh project, artist and musician street demonstrations, talks and more. The festival is a project of Wyatt Heritage Properties Inc. in partnership with Culture Summerside.
