ST. PETERS BAY, P.E.I. — St. Peter’s Bay United Church is holding an evening of storytelling and tunes, featuring storyteller Gary Evans and other Island performers, on Friday, Aug. 2.
The concert gets underway at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door, which opens at 6:30 p.m. A light lunch will be served at intermission
Evans now performs with Tellers and Tunes following the retirement of the popular Island group, The Four Tellers.
He will be sharing the stage with several Island musical entertainers.
Taylor Johnson is a teacher from Vernon River whose talents are becoming widely sought after. Alan MacDonald is a well-known Island fiddler, while Emmett DeCoursey is a popular singer and comedian from Milburn. Jacinta MacDonald, who is from Morell, currently performs with the Lady Singers of Our Century group. Rounding out the performers will be The Retrofrets, a lively group of ukulele players and singers.
This concert is the church’s major fundraising event of the year. As part of the outreach program of the United Church in St. Peter’s Bay, funds raised from the concerts have been given to support local organizations and charities over the years. Organizers are extremely appreciative and thankful for all the performers who donate their time and talent.
