This weekend's Sunday Night Shenanigans plays host to the Stiff Family Bluegrass Band, a special act consisting of six siblings who all play and sing together.
The shows take place at York Community Centre on July 21 at 7 p.m. and are hosted by Judy MacLean.
The band has recently relocated to Hunter River from Ontario and has been touring since 2013 throughout Ontario and the United States. Some of the family’s musical influences include Doyle Lawson, the Peasall Sisters and others.
In the Bluegrass tradition, they all sing and play acoustic instruments: guitar, bass, banjo, dobro, mandolin and fiddle.
Also on the bill is well-known and award winning recording artist Dino Dunsford, who always is an audience favorite with his many singalong numbers which includes lots of upbeat rock and roll, traditional and original tunes.
Others include The Montigny Sisters Steppers representing the Judy MacLean Dancers, and singer/songwriter/comedian Emmett DeCoursey.
The evening includes a light lunch, Vesey's visitor prize, and 50/50 draw. Tickets are at the door at 6 p.m., showtime is 7 p.m.
