The Milton Community Hall will be the site for an evening of dancing and music on Aug. 24 as Phase II and Friends provide the tunes for a Rockin’ to the Oldies Dance, beginning at 8 p.m.
Anyone who grew up in the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s will appreciate the energy and feel-good nature of the music of the rock ’n’ roll era. It's actually hard to sit still when listening to great tunes by Elvis Presley, Chubby Checker, Leslie Gore, Carol King and so many more.
Phase II has never wanted to be limited by strict guidelines, so, if audience members request it, the band will do a few country rock songs which usually fill the dance floor. Songs like “Boot Scootin' Boogie”, “Cadillac Ranch” and “Hey Good Lookin'” are excellent dance tunes, especially for line dancing.
The Milton Community Hall is located in the community of Milton, just off Route 2. The hall is a central part of the community, as it is used by many groups and serves a variety of purposes.
Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. There will be a full-service bar for this event.
Admission is at the door.
