Front man John MacPhee for the popular Canadian pop band Paper Lions will be playing a rare solo show at the Trailside Music Hall in Charlottetown at the Holman Grand Hotel Saturday, Aug. 22.

MacPhee's band reached the No. 10 spot on the Billboard chart for fastest growing band in the world in 2012. Since that time, Paper Lions have been finalists in the John Lennon Songwriting competition, winners of an Independent Music Award, two East Coast Music Awards, and winner of touring artist of the year by the Canadian Arts Presenters Association. They’ve also represented Canada at the World Expo in Shanghai China.

"Very excited for a solo John MacPhee show," says owner Pat Deighan. "I've been watching John for years with Paper Lions so it'll be a treat to hear those tunes stripped back."

Tickets are available at Trailside.ca, Back Alley Music or call 902-394-3626. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with music starting at 8 p.m.
