Canadian singer-songwriter and Summerside native Nathan Wiley will be playing the Trailside Music Hall in Charlottetown at the Holman Grand Hotel Thursday and Friday.

Three-time ECMA award and five-time Music P.E.I.-award winning artist Wiley first earned acclaim for his 2002 debut Bottom Dollar. He made good on the promise of that release with follow-up High Low two years later.

His blend of classic sounds with a modern, slightly world-weary perspective struck a chord with listeners. Next came The City Destroyed Me (produced by Los Lobos' Steve Berlin), where Wiley’s two-sided persona of small-town boy meets big-city desire and despair grows a few more sizes.

Wiley’s most recent release is a six-song EP titled Bandits, his first collection of original recorded material in seven years.

“Nathan writes some of the catchiest pop tunes around,” says Trailside owner Pat Deighan. “He's always been one of my favourite songwriters and always hoping he unveils a new song or two when he plays the Trailside."

Tickets are available at www.trailside.ca, Back Alley Music or call 902-394-3626. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with music starting at 8 p.m.
