Music P.E.I. is announcing a new initiative in response to COVID-19 and its effects on Island musicians and music industry workers.

The Tiny Island Concert series aims to offset the financial losses incurred by a community of people whose livelihood and well-being depend directly on gigs, concerts and other public events.

Beginning on Sunday, March 29, Music P.E.I. will host two Island artists, one established and one emerging, in a twice-weekly online concert, to be streamed live from each artist’s respective home. The shows will take place on Sundays and Thursdays at 8 p.m., featuring two artists per night for one hour of programming. Artists will be paid for their performance from Music P.E.I. and our funders.

Every Tiny Island Concert will be free for the online public, although donations will be accepted towards the newly-established Music P.E.I. Crisis Relief Fund. This fund will be distributed to P.E.I. artists and music industry professionals in need. Details on how to apply to the fund will be released shortly.

Interested Island musicians can find the submission guidelines and application for the Tiny Island Concert Series at musicpei.com. Submissions will remain open and ongoing while funds are available; the selection process for both the established and emerging category will be done by lottery.

The Tiny Island Concert Series schedule will be posted on Music P.E.I.'s Facebook page and updated regularly.

Music P.E.I. is the Music Industry Association for the province of Prince Edward Island with a mandate to assist in the development of P.E.I.'s music industry.
