MONT CARMEL, P.E.I. - The summer’s second-to-last concert at the Mont Carmel Parish Hall will bring another round of talented musicians to the stage Aug. 18.

The seventh of eight shows will feature musical duo Allan Gallant and Marcel Caissie, singer Daniel Drouin, Island singer/songwriter Marcella Richard, Québec singer/songwriter Geneviève Racette and New Brunswick’s traditional Celtic group Les Fireflies - made up of Louise Vautour, Samantha Robichaud and Christine Melanson. There will also be stepdancing by Robyn Gallant.

The concert starts at 7 p.m. and the doors of the Mont-Carmel Parish Hall at 5786 Route 11, Mont-Carmel, open at 6:15 p.m.

The public is invited to come early because the seating is limited. During the evening, spectators will be able to buy 50/50 tickets and the canteen will be open.

Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for members of the cooperative, $5 for students and free for preschoolers.

You can find the 2019 lineup at www.cooperativeculturelledemontcarmel.com.

Over the last couple of years, Allan Gallant and Marcel Caissie have developed a repertoire of traditional songs, ambiance music and songs from the 50s and 60s.

Daniel Drouin is a staple in the music community on P.E.I. In 2017, he released his debut album titled “It’s Been A Long Week” and is also a member of P.E.I.’s cover band Renegade.

Marcella Richard grew up in a musical family surrounded by fiddles, harmonicas, mandolins, guitars and songs. She currently has four recordings to her name and her most recent recording “Marcella Richard Sings Roy MacCaull” was released in 2018.

Geneviève Racette captivates her listeners from their very first listen. In Mont-Carmel, Racette will sing from her latest folk-pop recording “No Water, No Flowers”.

Les Fireflies is a group comprised of three fiddlers, multi-instrumentalists and singer/songwriters from New Brunswick. The group has performed Old Time, Acadian and Celtic music all over the world and has just released their debut album, recorded by J.P. Cormier. During the evening, Les Fireflies will warm-up the floor for stepdancer Robyn Gallant.

The Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel (CDCPMC) is pleased to present these concerts.
