CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Jack Blanchard Centre, 7 Pond St., Charlottetown, will be presenting a Night to Remember’, a special night of music on Wednesday Nov. 6, to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve in times of war.
This musical tribute show, presented through the support of Veterans Affairs Canada, will feature music which spans that past 100 years of conflict around the world and will follow the theme "Welcome Home".
Although the great world wars were fought many years ago, Canada continues to have soldiers returning home from battles all over the globe, and this night will honour all soldiers past and present.
End event organizers are also pleased to announce that all Canadian military members, past and present, will be admitted to this show free of charge. Admission for the general public is by donation only with all proceeds going towards the work of the P.E.I. Military Family Resource Centre and the programs and services its offer to these individuals, as well as families, who have put their life on the line for freedom and the rights of others around the world.
The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Music will be presented by Island musicians Kendall Docherty, Peter Burke, Marcella Richard, Jolee Patkai, Brian Knox and Heartz Godkin. Also featured will be a war-time sing-along, stories and readings. Doors will be open for general admission at 6:30 p.m.
