Islanders to protest U.S. sanctions, war on Iran Jan. 25

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A P.E.I. group is taking part in a global day of protest this weekend to say, “no sanctions-no war” against the people of Iran.

On Saturday, Jan. 25, the Island Peace Committee with gather for a peace rally in front of the Coles Building on Richmond Street in Charlottetown at 2 p.m.

The Charlottetown protest will be one of over 200 held around the world.

In the United States, more than 130 communities will join protest to send a message to President Donald Trump that more economic sanctions and war on Iran are not the answer.

The Island Peace Committee is encouraging P.E.I. residents to attend the rally.
