HUNTER RIVER, P.E.I. — The “Island Summer Review” is having a spirited run in its seventh summer at Harmony House Theatre, and for 2019, the performers and the theatre have decided to use some new technology to offer some old-style thanks.

On Thursday, Aug. 15, with the support of the one of the show’s major sponsors, fans of  the "Island Summer Review" can catch this year’s edition via Facebook Live.

When audience members talk to Patrick Ledwell and Mark Haines about “Island Summer Review”, they often say they’ve come back year-over-year to see the new show.

“We thought, what if someone’s not able to make it back to the Island this summer?” says Ledwell. “Maybe we can offer a way to catch the show before it’s over, live from Hunter River.”

Starting at 7:55 p.m. on Aug. 15, the theatre will use Facebook Live to share a streamed version of the show with subscribed viewers.

To see the show broadcast, all audience members need to do in advance is click to ‘like’ broadcast sponsor honibe®’s Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/honibe.

Those who have joined the honibe® page in advance will receive lead-up notifications to tune in, and also when the video begins broadcasting.

“We had over 900 people tune in for the initial broadcast last year and were heartened by that response,” says Ledwell. “One couple had come every summer, but with the husband recovering from surgery, this was the only way they could see the show together. That story alone made it all worthwhile.”

“We appreciate how honibe® is helping us say thanks to our audiences in a creative new way,” says theatre co-owner Melanie Taylor. “Our partners have been so important in offering our summer season.”

To see the broadcast, join honibe® on Facebook, and watch for updates leading up to the Aug. 15 Facebook Live broadcast.
