CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A pair of musicians with Charlottetown connections earned Canadian Folk Music Awards on Saturday.

Irish Mythen, a Charlottetown resident, won solo artist of the year for her Little Bones album while Charlottetown native Daniel Ledwell, who is now based in Lake Echo, N.S., earned producer of the year honours for Lennie Gallant’s Time Travel album.

The awards were supposed to be presented in Charlottetown but the ceremony was cancelled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19 strain) and presented online.
Five more Islanders (Gordie MacKeeman and the Rhythm Boys, Richard Wood, Vishtèn, Gallant and Jenn Grant) were also nominated for awards.
