CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — P.E.I. residents, businesses and organizations will have the opportunity to discuss the future skill needs in the region at an upcoming event.

Holland College, in partnership with the Conference Board of Canada and the Business/Higher Education Roundtable, will co-convene P.E.I. Regional Sounding.

The event, which takes place Feb. 12, is being facilitated by the Conference Board of Canada on behalf of the Future Skills Centre.

It is one of several regional soundings taking place in communities across the country.

The P.E.I. Regional Sounding will take place in the Centre for Applied Science and Technology, 300 Kent St., on Holland College’s Prince of Wales Campus.

The Future Skills Centre aims to identify emerging in-demand skills across the country, with the goal of helping Canadians prepare for a changing workforce.

This cross-Canada tour will engage diverse communities to learn about regional priorities. Information will help inform the Future Skills Centre’s research and innovation investment strategies.

The P.E.I. Regional Sounding runs 12-2:45 p.m. and starts with an overview of the Future Skills Centre’s mandate and objectives. Following that, participants will form small groups to discuss how the Future Skills Centre can best support the province today for workforce opportunities of the future.

There is no charge to participate, however, space is limited. Register in advance at conferenceboard.ca/futureskillscentre/regional-sounding-tour.
