CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — For some students, the school year begins at the arrivals gate.
Visitors to the Charlottetown Airport have been noticing a Holland College presence this past week, as staff have been on hand to welcome the international students that have been arriving on 64 flights.
“Our international student numbers have increased by 20 per cent over last year,” said Holland College president Sandy MacDonald.
“This year, we are welcoming students from 52 countries, including the Bahamas, India, Mexico, Nigeria and the United States.”
The college’s international office will hold an orientation event for international students Saturday, Sept. 7, at 3 p.m. to welcome students and help them become accustomed to their new surroundings.
