CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Lt.-Gov. Antoinette Perry announced the grounds at Government House in Charlottetown will be open for guided walking tours for groups of up to 10 people until Aug. 28.

Tours will begin on the hour starting at the gates Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Signage will be posted and public health protocols are being followed.

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19 strain) pandemic, tours of the official residence will not be available this summer.

“As the Atlantic bubble opens, it is our responsibility as citizens to continue being diligent in observing the public health directives. It is my hope that the summer of 2020 will be a most memorable time for people to reconnect with family and friends while welcoming visitors to explore and discover our Island,” said Perry in a news release.

“As we prepare to safely show our welcoming spirit of Island hospitality, I encourage everyone to continue to do their part in limiting risks and helping to control the spread of the virus.”
