SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Works from the P.E.I. Wood Turners Guild will be on display in the exhibition "One Good Turn" at Eptek Art and Culture Centre.

The exhibit will be on display through December with an official opening on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m.

The P.E.I Wood Turners Guild will also be holding a free woodturning demonstration on Dec. 15 at 2 p.m.

Several members of the Guild have submitted a variety of pieces for the enjoyment of the local public. Everything from bowls to wafer-thin vases to segmented turnings made of a variety of woods can be found.

On Dec. 5, the Eptek Centre Book Club will meet and discuss the book "Crazy Rich Asians" by Kevin Kwan. The book centers around three extremely wealthy families and the gossip, backbiting, and scheming that occurs when the heir to one of the fortunes brings home his American-born Chinese girlfriend to the wedding of the season. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.

In December the Friends of Eptek Centre's lunchtime Film Series continues with three films. On Dec. 5, visitors can view "Tibet On the Edge of Change" (58 minutes), "Discovering France" (50 minutes) on Dec. 12 and "Our Favourite Things" (71 minutes) on Dec. 19. Admission is free, but donations are accepted for the refreshments provided.

Coming up on Dec. 8 is the annual Friends of Eptek Centre House Tour and Holiday Tea. Five Summerside homes will be featured during the tour. Tickets are $15 and are available at the Eptek Art and Culture Centre. The tour runs from 5 to 8 p.m.
