MOUNT STEWART, P.E.I. — The Cat Action Team (C.A.T.) of Prince Edward Island is holding a night of music featuring Dennis Ellsworth and Iain McCarvill at the Trailside Music Café & Inn on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
C.A.T. is an all-volunteer group dedicated to the welfare of feral cats on the Island. While such cats are mostly left to their own devices, and want it that way, the population needs to be controlled to ensure their quality of life and the health of domestic cats that interact with them.
C.A.T. traps the feral cats, has them neutered through a network of veterinarians, and then releases them back to their environment. While at the clinic, the cats are tested for disease, vaccinated and receive any necessary treatments.
C.A.T. is also involved with building winter shelters. All proceeds from ticket sales will be going to the charity.
