The Great Enlightenment Buddhist Institute Society (GEBIS) has announced the postponement of the biennial multicultural Cool Moon Festival that had been scheduled for mid-October 2020 in Charlottetown with a series of pop-up performances across Prince Edward Island.

The Cool Moon Cultural Festival invites artists and friends from around the world to come together and experience diverse cultures through the arts. It is hoped that the learning and appreciation of various cultures will lead people to realize that all are more alike than are different.

“We found this to be a challenging situation and as we are unable to predict the COVID-19 environment for Fall on P.E.I. we have opted to follow the other major festivals and events.” said Geoffrey Yang, executive secretary of GEBIS.

“This tough decision has taken into consideration the health and safety of our attendees, artists and volunteers” said Ray Brow, festival co-creator and organizer, “but we promise that when

Cool Moon returns it will be worth the wait".

The tentative dates for Cool Moon 2021 are Oct. 19-21.

Detailed information of the multicultural Cool Moon Festival can be found at coolmoon.ca.
