BONSHAW, P.E.I. — The monthly ceilidh concert at the Bonshaw Hall will be held on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2-4 p.m.

Performers will include special guests Cam MacDuffee, the folk group Fullerton's Marsh (Frank MacQuaid, Randy Dibblee, Willie Arsenault), singer Johanne Gass, step dancer James Ronahan and local musicians, including Tony the Troubador, Herb MacDonald, and/or Phil Pineau.

There will also be a 50/50 draw, lunch and open stage time. All ages are welcome. The venue is accessible for small wheelchairs.

Admission is by donation, with proceeds to upkeep of historic Bonshaw Hall.

The hall, which served the community and the surrounding area for the past 150 years as a church, has been used in recent years as a venue for concerts and ceilidhs. Over the years the building has been used for lectures and musical events as well as worship.

The building served as a Presbyterian Church between 1867 and 1925. After Church Union in 1925 it became a United Church of Canada.

The early 21st century wasn’t kind to the little building with the crooked spire and the building passing into private hands in 2007. Prior to being leased by the Bonshaw Hall Co-operative Ltd. in June 2008, it served as an antiques store.
