The latest TV incarnation of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s most famous creation is coming to an end with the cancellation of “Anne with an E.”
Moira Walley-Beckett, one of the show’s executive producers, posted the news on Instagram Monday, saying “Anne with an E” had reached the end of the road after three seasons.
"They (Netflix) think this season is brilliant and I hope you do too," she wrote. "Thank you for loving my show as much as I do! You’ll always be my Kindred Spirits."
The series featured Amybeth McNulty in the title role of Anne Shirley, along with Geraldine James as Marilla Cuthbert and R.H. Thomson as Matthew Cuthbert.
The series was a co-production of Netflix and CBC.
