ORWELL, P.E.I. — The Belfast Historical Society is partnering with well-known Island filmmaker Millefiore Clarkes as it looks back at its first publication, “Belfast People” during a presentation at the Sir Andrew Macphail Homestead in Owell on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.

The society will have the opportunity to view a video compiled by Clarkes featuring some short clips from audiotapes from the late 1970s. Clarkes will also share with us some steps in her journey. She has produced documentaries both independently and with the National Film Board.

The Paper Lions and Catherine and Gene MacLellan have also been subjects of her work. She owns and operates One Thousand Flowers Productions.

“As a society celebrating heritage, we are excited to see younger, talented members of our community come beside us and enrich our stories,” said a news release.

All are welcome to attend and a social hour with refreshments will follow the meeting. Belfast Historical Society memberships will also be available at this time.
