More than 50 Island artists, venues, producers, studios and festivals have been nominated for the 2021 Music P.E.I. Awards.
Catherine MacLellan leads the 2021 Music P.E.I. awards with nine nominations, including album of the year, for her latest album, Coyote.
Rachel Beck is also up for album of the year and comes in close behind with seven nominations.
Dylan Menzie, KINLEY and Sarah Hangen are sitting with six nominations, while five nominations belong to Brielle Ansems and her album, This New Hurricane.
The member and public voting for the 2021 Music P.E.I. Awards opened on Dec. 21.

The winners of the following genre categories will be decided by the Music P.E.I. membership: electronic recording of the year; rock/loud recording of the year; Downtown Charlottetown Inc. Pop Recording of the Year; contemporary roots/country recording of the year; rap/hip-hop recording of the year.
Members can cast their vote at musicpei.com/lounge/login.php and signing into themusicpei.com account. It is necessary to have an active membership to vote.
Bands/groups can log in with the band account and will be asked which person is voting before submitting. Each member of the group/band can vote once.
The winner of entertainer of the year will be selected by a public vote. The nominees are Catherine MacLellan, Dylan Menzie, Rachel Beck, The East Pointers and Vishtèn.
Only one vote per person is allowed. Vote here for 2021 entertainer of the year.

The winners of the remaining Music P.E.I. Award categories will be determined by a jury of industry professionals.
Festivities for the Music P.E.I. Award will run March 3-7, culminating with the awards party and festival finale.
