SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — This year, the skies will light up over Prince County Hospital on Dec. 4 for the 25th annual Lights for Life celebration.
During the month of November, gifts are made to the Prince County Hospital Foundation in honour and in memory of loved ones with all funds going toward medical equipment for the hospital including much needed cardiac monitors and IV pumps.
Lights for Life is a big part of how the PCH Foundation hopes to reach its goal of $2.2 million this year.
“To celebrate 25 years of Lights for Life, the PCH Foundation is mailing a special donor package to every home on the Island. This is an opportunity for everyone to be a part of the celebration all while helping to raise funds for this hospital. Patients from across P.E.I. benefit from your kindness,” says PCH Foundation Managing Director Heather Matheson.
“Every dollar raised helps purchase vital medical equipment at PCH for the care of all Islanders. Even a little light can mean a lot.”
Gift dedication amounts begin at $10 and all of the donations received before Nov. 23 at noon will be entered into the keepsake book.
And then the community is invited to join the celebration at PCH on Dec. 4, 6:30 p.m. at PCH for the annual lighting ceremony where the entire front of PCH is illuminated with lights and displays choreographed to music.
For the 12th year, the foundation welcomes the Credit Unions of Prince County as the presenting sponsors.
“The event is not possible without the many sponsors and supporters who contribute not only vital funds but also lighting equipment and advertising space. Supporters like the Credit Unions and Saltwire Network (publisher of the Journal Pioneer) really make an impact,” said Matheson.
Donors can visit pchcare.com for further information on Lights for Life and giving options.
Donations are also accepted at the Foundation office in the hospital lobby or by calling 902-432-2547.
