Andrew A. Melzer, a Canadian based composer/producer living on P.E.I. landed two nominations in the 2019 American Songwriting Awards announced on July 3.

The first song is “Out of the Cool” in the jazz category. The second is “My Love Can’t Wait” in the instrumental category.

These are the fourth and fifth songs to receive awards from the album “Norm Amadio And Friends”, which he also produced. The album previously gave Melzer a nomination for ECMA producer of the year. It features Norm Amadio, Marc Jordan, Jackie Richardson, Tommy Ambrose, Guido Basso, Phil Dwyer, Rosemary Galloway, Terry Clark, Reg Schwager, Mat Pataki, Bob Price and Stan Perry. Peter Cardinali arranged the songs and John “Beetle” Bailey recorded the album.

Previous honours received by Melzer from this album were for the songs “’Round The Bend”, “She Smiled” and “Lower Chakra Love”.

“Norm Amadio and Friends” is available on all major streaming services and receives frequent airplay on Canada’s jazz station CJRT: JAZZ.FM 91.
