WINSLOE, P.E.I. — The Winter Series Ceilidh is back at Winsloe United Church on Monday, Feb. 24, 7:30 p.m.
This is the storm date for a show that was scheduled to have been held on Feb. 10.
Host Colleen MacPhee, along with the house band (Dave Berrigan, Heartz Godkin, Judy Lowe, guest drummer Ed Young) will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Keelin Wedge, singer-songwriter Eddy Quinn and a special guest appearance by “Sarah”, a comedy act presented by Barb Perry.
The ceilidh, which is a fundraiser for Winsloe United Church, is wheelchair accessible and offers plenty of parking. Tickets are $10 at the door which opens at 6:30 p.m. There will be a light lunch served.
Wedge, a popular entertainer will be adding a blend of instrumental and vocals.
Whether it’s a foot- stomping fiddle tune or a slow love ballad, Wedge will liven up the ceilidh. She will also have CDs for sale.
Quinn, a singer-songwriter and author know for his involvement with P.E.I. group Fiddlers’ Sons, will sing some traditional songs, as well as share stories from his book, Island Characters.
His book and CDs will be for sale.
Perry, who has written many three-act comedy plays and has helped to raise over $200,000 for the QEH Hospital Equipment Fund, got her start in comedy over 40 years ago, creating the character known as “Sarah”.
