Kinkora will be presenting a special Christmas Ceilidh on Sunday, Dec. 8, 1:30 p.m., at Kinkora Place, with the doors opening 1 p.m.

Janet McGarry and her band, Wildwood, will host the show and will feature a unique selection of Christmas songs from the early days of country and old-time music – traditional, contemporary and original Christmas music set in an acoustic style that is truly a unique experience.

The sounds of gospel, old-time country, and bluegrass music will ring Christmas on the old five string banjo, mandolin, flat-top guitar and bass.

They will have some special guests joining them, too.

“We’re proud to present the talents of three young musicians from the Kinkora area – Thatcher MacKay, Callie Thomson and Emily Craig,” says McGarry, "and we always have fun sharing the stage with the Island’s “left handed fiddler” Dave Thomson."

Everyone is invited to attend. Admission is $10 at the door and includes lunch.

For information, contact Neville Lawless at 902-887-2818 or Gary Arsenault at 902-303-1048.
