BONSHAW, P.E.I. — Students from the Holland College School of Performing Arts will be among the guest performers at the ceilidh concert to be held Sept. 29, 7-9 p.m., at the Bonshaw Hall.
Performers will include special guests fiddler Tre Sutherland from Manitoba with guitarist Tom Gammons from Montana. Also performing will be singer-songwriter Megan Ellands, singer Aly Pitre of Pixie and the Gremlin, the folk duo Connections, made up of Ron Kelly and Noella Shorgan, plus local musicians, including Tony the Troubador, Phil Pineau and Herb MacDonald.
Ellands has been performing in public events since she was nine and won P.E.I.'s Got Talent in 2013 with her song “Civil War”. That song was used for the anti-bullying team called Reach Out at Bluefield High when Ellands was attending school there. She is currently enrolled in the music performance program at Holland College and performs at weddings, concerts, ceilidhs, and family shindigs accompanying herself on guitar and piano.
The Bonshaw Ceilidh also has open stage time, a 50/50 draw and homemade cookies with tea served at intermission.
Admission is by donation with proceeds this month going to Diabetes Canada in the P.E.I. region.
All ages are welcome and the hall, located at 6 Green Rd., is accessible for smaller wheelchairs.
