MOUNT STEWART, P.E.I. — Island favourites Mark Haines and Patrick Ledwell will team up for a show at the Trailside Café in Mount Stewart this evening.

Heading into a summer season with "The Island Summer Review,” Haines and Ledwell are looking forward to bringing a one-night performance to the intimate setting at the Trailside.

"We'll be offering the blend of comedy and music Islanders have responded to, but with all new material for the summer ahead,” they say.

They’re also going low-tech.

"I'm not using any screen graphics, to keep things unplugged," says Ledwell.

Instead they’re bringing the full-out mix of fiddle reels and guitars and debuting new storytelling for the season.

Haines is looking forward to the show.

“Patrick and I enjoy engaging audiences in new and entertaining conversations.

"For me, to be performing in a fine place like the Trailside, with great hosts like Pat and Meghann, will be a real hoot.”

Ledwell is a regularly featured performer on the popular CBC Radio show “The Debaters”. Host Steve Patterson has called him “one of the funniest people in Canada.” Haines has had a career spanning 35 years in venues from Sweden and Taiwan to the Fortune Community Hall and the Royal Alexandra in Toronto.

Tickets are available at Trailside.ca, Back Alley Music or 902-394-3626. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting at 8 p.m.
