A “feisty” Massachusetts grandmother celebrated beating her battle with the coronavirus with an ice cold Bud Light.

“She’s feisty and tenacious,” Jennie Stejna’s grandson, Dave Stejna of Easton, Mass., told The New York Post . “She is legendary in so many different ways. She speaks her mind and doesn’t put up with anything.”

The Polish-American, who lives in the Life Care Center of Wilbraham, fell ill about three weeks ago.

She was the first to test positive for the coronavirus in her nursing home, her granddaughter Shelley Gunn told The Enterprise newspaper.

She had a low-grade fever and was moved to a COVID-19 ward, where her condition worsened. She lost her appetite and was having trouble staying hydrated despite around-the-clock care from nursing home staff.

The Boston Red Sox fan who loves to sip beer on a hot day didn’t fully understand COVID-19, but knew she was very ill.

“She kind of didn’t accept what was going on. She kept complaining that she couldn’t listen to Red Sox games (on her transistor radio),” Dave told The Post.

Family members called to say their final goodbyes.

But miraculously, the Polish matriarch pulled through and was officially cleared of the virus on May 13.

To celebrate the good news, a nurse bought Jennie a six-pack.

“She put it to her lips and said, ‘Ooh, that’s cold. It’s good when it’s cold,’ ” her grandson said.
