An ‘Island Buffet’ coming on Oct. 16

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The P.E.I. Women’s Institute provincial board will be hosting “An Island Buffet” with Margaret Prouse on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Prouse will be presenting an evening of cooking demonstrations featuring Island-grown produce, meat, dairy products and eggs in dishes for weekday meals and special occasions. Prouse will offer tips for simplifying and streamlining food preparation.

Those participating will have the opportunity to taste samples and take home recipes.

Prouse, a home economist and food writer, has written From My Kitchen weekly for The Guardian for more than 25 years, as well as presented cooking demonstrations in communities across P.E.I. 

The evening will begin at 7 p.m. at the Farm Centre, 420 University Ave., Charlottetown.

Registration deadline is Friday, Oct. 4. Tickets are $10 and are available online through www.eventbrite.ca using “An Island Buffet with Margaret Prouse: WI Cooking School”. They are also available in person at the WI office, 40 Enman Cres., Charlottetown.
