One month after musicians and patrons rallied to save the Ironwood Stage and Grill, a second fundraiser at the iconic venue will be held to benefit other Calgary establishments hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

BANDing Together was a three-night fundraiser held in August that featured the talents of Mocking Shadows, Jory Kinjo. T. Buckley and Tom Phillips and the DTs, among others. It raised $68,000 for the Inglewood live-music venue, said Scott Morin, one of the fundraiser’s organizers.

BANDing Together II: This One’s for the Venues will be held Sept. 18, 19 and 20 and a large portion of the funds will go towards other music venues, including Mikey’s on 12th, Dickens, the Blues Can, Broken City, Music Mile and Vern’s. As with the previous fundraiser, an online auction will be held.

Limited social-distanced seating will be available all three nights at the Ironwood, but the shows will also be streamed online through Stagehand.

On Friday, Sept. 18, the show starts at 7:30 p.m. and will feature Mike Watson, Craig Aikman, Kate Stevens, Emily Triggs, Lucky Sonne and SiR.

Saturday’s show begins at 8 p.m. and will feature Justine Vandergrift, The Steve Fisher Band, The Toques, the Red Hot Hayseeds and Brent Tyler.

On Sunday, Sept. 19, the show will be a jazz night that kicks off at 6 p.m. and will feature Allison Lynch, the Johnny Summers Quartet, the Angela Wrigley Trio, the Redline Trio (featuring Mark DeJong, Jeff Sulima and Steve Shepard) and Johanna Sillanpaa.
