After getting booed off the stage on Sunday night, Drake isn’t sweating it.

The rapper made a surprise appearance at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, but he wasn’t the act fans were expecting. For no discernible reason, fans had assumed Frank Ocean would be the surprise headliner, and were not happy when Drake showed up instead, booing and screaming him as he finally left the stage, cutting his set short by 20 minutes.

In videos posted to social media, the rapper could be heard saying, “They told me to come out and maybe do, like, two or three songs for y’all tonight, but I’m gonna ask your permission because I know this is your festival. I’m gonna ask your permission if I can stay up here and turn up with you for a little longer tonight. … Like I said, I’m here for you, if you want me to keep going, I’ll keep going.”

A chorus of “NO!” rained down upon the performer.

So, Drake left the stage.

On Monday, he joked about the moment on his Instagram , writing, “Plot twist…just signed a 10 year residency at Camp Flog Gnaw sorry kids see you EVERY SINGLE YEAR till you are 30.”

Meanwhile, Tyler, the Creator took to Twitter to thank Drake and say he’s been embarrassed by his fans.

“I thought bringing one of the biggest artist on the f–king planet to a music festival was fire! But flipside, a lil tone deaf knowing the specific crowd it drew,” he tweeted. “Some created a narrative in their head and acted out like a–holes when it didn’t come true and I don’t f–k with that. … Y’all represented me and Flog to my guest and made us look sooo entitled and trash. That sh-t was like mob mentality and cancel culture in real life and I think that sh-t is f–king trash. … He really did that for me and I appreciate it because he did not have to come at all, see our worlds come together was so great in theory. Thank you Drake!”
