ABRAM-VILLAGE, P.E.I. — A call for contestants has been issued for the Acazing Talent Competition.
The competition, part of the Evangeline Area Agricultural Exhibition and Acadian Festival, has been a fan favourite.
A new French Song Award has been added to the list of prizes to encourage contestants to present songs in French. The bilingual contest, for amateur performers only, includes three categories: children aged 12 years and under, youth aged 13 to 20, and adults aged 21 years and over. There is a maximum of 18 participants, meaning six participants per category.
Cash prizes will be offered to winners in the following categories: Category 1 - $150 and $75, Category 2 - $250 and $125, Category 3 - $400 and $200. Also up for grabs is the People’s Choice Award.
Deadline to register for the contest is Aug. 19.
