CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Ceilidh in the City is back for 2019 with its first bonus show of the season, set for this evening in Charlottetown.
This year marks the ninth year since this popular concert series began, and after a long, cold winter the organizers are looking forward to getting back to the newly renovated Jack Blanchard Centre to present some great Island music, while showcasing some of the best in Island singers, fiddlers, storytellers and more.
This show will feature the music of Larry Campbell, a man who wears many musical hats performing country, bluegrass, traditional and many more styles of music.
He will be joining the hosts of the Ceilidh in the City – Kendall Docherty, Peter Burke, Brian Knox and Heartz Godkin – at the Jack Blanchard Family Centre, located at 7 Pond St. in Charlottetown.
Doors will be open at 6:30 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. showtime. There will be a canteen service operated by the catering staff from Holy Redeemer, and a 50/50 draw will take place in support of the Ceilidh Gives Back Fund, which supports various local charities and families in times of need.
