EMERALD JUNCTION, P.E.I. — Host Courtney Hogan welcomes special guests, Tip ‘Er Back, to the Emerald Boxcar Ceilidhs this Friday, July 19.
Tip ‘Er Back will get the feet stomping and the hands clapping with its harmonic blend of Celtic and traditional music. The band consists of Clive Currie, Allan Betts and Wade Murray, all part of the Kickin’ Country band from a few years back.
“I think folks are going to be pretty surprised and impressed with what these guys can do,” said Hogan.
The ceilidh’s host is certainly no stranger to the stage, either. Three-time P.E.I. Music Awards nominee, she has five CDs in her collection including a new collaborative CD with Keelin Wedge.
Hogan is a mainstay fiddler with Fiddlers’ Sons, the author of a Ceilidh cookbook and a full-time veterinarian. She’s been hosting her own ceilidhs for 13 seasons
The air-conditioned Emerald Community Centre’s pub opens Friday at 5:30 and the Boxcar Ceilidh gets going at 7:30 p.m.
Ceilidh shirts, 50/50 tickets, CDs and Island pottery will be available to purchase on site.
