The Bras d’Or Lakes Inn is hosting an INN Style exclusive semi-formal runway experience today with fashion designer Veronica MacIsaac and opening designer label Michelle-Rober.

If you have ever wanted to attend one of those sensational fashion shows you have seen on TV, this is your opportunity, as MacIsaac, a top Canadian designer, brings her creations home to St. Peter’s. Today’s event runs from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Veronica MacIsaac is the daughter of St. Peter’s residents Rosemary and Mac MacIsaac, owners of MacIsaac Kiltmakers; known all over the world for their kilts.

MacIsaac has selected the perfect niche market for her creations using tartans in the fashion world, which is only natural having grown up with a strong traditional Scottish background, with pipers and highland dancing being such a big part of her childhood.

MacIsaac, who was a highland dancer growing up, watched as her mom made kilts for her and her brother, piper Matt MacIsaac. It was a natural progression that she would choose tartan as her fabric of choice.

MacIsaac operates her studio out of Halifax but has customers from across Canada, Scotland and around the world.

If you would like to attend this event, call the Bras d’Or Lakes Inn in St. Peter’s at 902-535-2200, and enjoy five hours of entertainment, music, food and drink for $60 per person.

Ann Marie Yorke has worked closely with the Richmond County tourism industry and has been a tourism information officer in St. Peter’s for 15 years. She looks forward to your comments at [email protected].
