An international conference hosted by UPEI’s interdisciplinary Asian studies program wraps up today in the Main Building’s faculty lounge.

The conference, “Good and Evil in Korean Philosophy, Religion, and Spirituality: Korean Ideas and their Global Implications,” includes five panels featuring 16 scholars from Korea, Japan, Canada, and the U.S.

They will discuss Buddhism, Confucianism, Christianity and related topics, comparative studies and Japan’s “Kyoto School” (Zen and comparative philosophy/theology).

“This conference will help us to strengthen UPEI’s international reputation, expand its global exchange and partnership and recruit more international students from Asian countries,” said Edward Chung, Asian studies and Korean studies project director at UPEI.
