The Friends of the Confederation Centre is now accepting donations for its most anticipated annual fundraising event, the Pinch Penny Fair.
The group is asking for gently used items, including household items, books, sporting goods, toys, plants, music, jewelry, furniture, tools, glassware, etc. However, clothing, televisions, and computer donations cannot be accepted.
These donations can be dropped off at the Richmond Street entrance during operating hours of Confederation Centre of the Arts.
The 51st annual Pinch Penny Fair is set to take place April 27, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Confederation Centre of the Arts. The fair will feature a giant indoor yard sale, silent auction, bake sale, plant table, book sale, face-painting, children’s activities and much more.
Admission is $2, with children 12 and under free.
The group is also accepting items for its silent auction from local businesses. This includes (but is not limited to) slow-moving items, gift certificates, big ticket items and more. Donations will be recognized through signage around the fair, as well as mentioning the contribution on social media.
The money raised from Pinch Penny Fair go towards supporting annual initiatives such as the Art-the-Schools program, the Confederation Youth Chorus and children’s art activities. Help is also welcomed leading up to and on the day of the event.
