Charlottetown will celebrate its 162nd birthday with Natal Day events

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - The City of Charlottetown will mark its 162nd birthday with Natal Day events June 9-11.

The public is invited to participate in this annual celebration of the City of Charlottetown’s incorporation date in 1855.

The weekend will include free, family-friendly activities for people of all ages, including a community pancake breakfast, a gardening workshop, an official opening of the Victoria Park Cultural Pavilion, a seniors’ social, the traditional Natal Day Parade, a skateboard and BMX competition, live entertainment and family fun events in Victoria Park. 



"We are excited to announce the activities planned to celebrate Natal Day during this monumental year," said Charlottetown Mayor Clifford Lee.

"Victoria Park will definitely be the highlight of the weekend with the official opening of the newly completed Cultural Pavilion. We invite everyone to join us.” 



The unveiling of the Cultural Pavilion at Victoria Park will be held on June 10, 7-9 p.m., with entertainment by Lady Soul featuring Kelley Mooney.

Afternoon Fun in the Park will also be held in Victoria Park on June 11, 1-4 p.m. This family-oriented event will have kiddie rides and inflatables, face painting and balloon twisting, along with complimentary refreshments and birthday cake. There will also be musical entertainment.



“Natal Day offers programming for all ages and we encourage residents to come celebrate our beautiful city with us,” said Coun. Bob Doiron, chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Arts and Culture Committee.
