Charlottetown mayor’s reception for newcomers goes Oct. 11

Charlottetown Mayor Clifford Lee will hold the Mayor’s Newcomer Welcome Reception on Thursday, Oct. 11.

This will be the third year in a row for the event which extends a special welcome to any newcomers who live and/or work in Charlottetown.

It will provide an opportunity to visit City Hall and meet the mayor and council members in a comfortable, informal setting. The reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at City Hall, 199 Queen St.

During the reception, attendees will have the opportunity to tour City Hall. Information will also be provided on the next orientation session, taking place on Oct. 30. The Charlottetown newcomer ambassadors will be at the reception as volunteer peer supports, helping to break down any potential language barriers and ensure the event is welcoming and comfortable for people of all different nationalities and cultures.
