Business presents cheque for $250,000 at annual Grass Roots and Cowboy Boots event

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – The Prince County Hospital Foundation has received a donation of a quarter of a million dollars from an Island business.

Cavendish Farms presented a cheque for $250,000 at the foundation’s 10th annual Grass Roots and Cowboy Boots event at the Credit Union Place in Summerside Sept. 8.

To date, Cavendish Farms has contributed more than $1 million to the foundation.

Heather Matheson, managing director of the foundation, said the hospital depends on the support of the community and the foundation and said she’s thrilled to see the long-term partnership with Cavendish Farms continue.

“They are back this year with another generous contribution that truly demonstrates their commitment to our hospital and the people in this province,” she said. “Their support over the years has been instrumental in us purchasing the necessary medical equipment and technology for our families and friends to access in their times of need.”

Cavendish Farms President Robert K. Irving said his company is pleased to partner with the foundation to improve patient care for residents of P.E.I.

“Most of us will likely rely on hospital services at some point in our lives, so it’s important for our employees and Islanders to be able to access the care they need right here in the communities where they live and work.”
