The Canadian Federation of Independent Business is recognizing a group’s work on red tape reduction by presenting them with an Order of the Bear.
That group’s initiative will see aligned technical safety legislation and common regulations in place throughout Atlantic Canada to reduce red tape and make it easier for some tradespeople to work anywhere in the region.
Federation spokeswoman Erin McGrath-Gaudet said the Order of the Bear is a chance to thank government officials working to make a difference for small businesses.
“This is exactly the type of action governments can take to help reduce the burden of red tape on small businesses while still keeping public safety at the forefront,” she said.
The working group includes representatives from P.E.I., Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador.
