Organizations on P.E.I. are invited to apply for the spring intake of Workers Compensation (WCB) grants.

The grant program, introduced last year, helps fund innovative workplace solutions and new training and educational opportunities for Island employers and workers.

“We were very impressed with the caliber of proposals that were submitted during the first intake of the grant program in 2018,’’ said Stuart Affleck, chairman of WCB.

Organizations can apply for funding under two streams – workplace innovation and training and education.

Workplace innovation funding is available for novel, creative and innovative projects that lead to improvements in health and safety and foster successful rehabilitation and safe return to productive and meaningful work at P.E.I. workplaces.

Training and education funding is available for creation, enhancement and delivery of instructional programs or activities delivered to Island workers and employers, related to workplace health and safety, injury prevention and the safe return to productive and meaningful work for injured workers.

Luanne Gallant, CEO of the WCB, said the programs will lead to practical, creative and new initiatives.

Successful applications will be evaluated using the following criteria areas — idea, impact, achievability and alignment with strategic priorities. Eligible projects may receive funding support of up to $75,000.

Application forms can be found online at wcb.pe.ca/information/grantprogram.

The deadline to submit your application is Friday, March 15 at 4 p.m.
