Student organizations across Canada have released a joint publication on student employability titled “Shared Perspectives: A Joint Publication on Preparing Students for the Workforce”.
This publication features student perspectives on several issues in post-secondary education, including employability, skills development and experiential learning opportunities.
Emma Drake, UPEISU vice-president, academic and external, said the document highlights that student employability is a countrywide concern.
“In P.E.I., specifically, the youth employment rate was 10.7 per cent in September 2018.”
“Shared Perspectives” identifies challenges and opportunities encountered by post-secondary students on national and provincial levels.
The joint report from seven partners, representing over 570,000 students, is available on the UPEISU website.
