SYDNEY, N.S. — Air Canada has extended its suspension of flights between Sydney and Halifax until Feb. 1.
It is the second time the service suspension has been extended and flights between the two Nova Scotia cities have not taken place since early November.
A press release from the J.A. Douglas McCurdy Sydney Airport noted the latest extension and the disappointment with the news from officials.
“We are concerned that our airline partners have been forced to implement more cuts in service because of low demand,” the release states.
“Airports need our airline partners and their passengers in order to recover. We anxiously await further details on the air sector relief package announced in the federal government’s fiscal update on Nov. 30.”
