P.E.I.'s Ray Murphy receives Pillar of Pharmacy award

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Ray Murphy was honoured with this year’s Pillar of Pharmacy award during a reception and dinner at Murphy’s Community Centre on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Murphy, who established Murphy’s Pharmacies in 1981 before growing it to its current 13 locations, was honoured with the national award.

He was selected for his leadership in the industry on P.E.I. as well as for his community work.

Murphy, who was previously appointed to the Order of Canada, served as a board member for numerous non-profit organizations throughout the past decades in addition to his company’s ongoing support of the Murphy’s Community Centre.
