P.E.I. photographers take home awards from Las Vegas photo contest

Cavendish photographers Jessica MacNeill and Audra Carrier of Grandpa’s Antique Photo Studio were recognized at the 2018 Antique and Amusement Photographers International photo contest in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Grandpa’s Antique Photo Studio received a total of 18 awards at the event, including three first-place and two technical excellence awards.

MacNeill earned a total of 13 ribbons, including the three first-place ribbons for her boudoir portrait, portrait of two persons and portrait of a pet.
MacNeill also received two technical excellence awards for her boudoir portrait and her portrait of a woman.

The Technical Excellence Award, only given to a select few photographs by the AAPI photography committee, is based on print quality, creativity, style, composition, presentation, balance, lighting and technique.
Carrier received a total of five ribbons, including a second-place ribbon of her self-portrait.

The AAPI annual photography competition attracts hundreds of entries representing photo studios across the United States, Canada and Europe. AAPI is a professional association for photographers and vendors specializing in souvenir photography, including antique or “old time photos,” special events, historical re-enactments and amusement portraits.
