CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A patio restaurant in Charlottetown known for its tacos and tequila is for sale.
Sugar Skull Cantina, located on Water Street across from the Delta Hotels Prince Edward, has been on the market for a couple of months.
Owners Mike Ross and Brett Hogan say business has been good since the restaurant opened in May 2017.
"It’s a busy restaurant – a profitable restaurant,’’ he says.
However, the business partners want to focus on growing their successful Hopyard businesses.
The first Hopyard opened in Charlottetown in May 2016 and expanded to a second location in Halifax in August 2018.
Ross and Hogan hope to open their third Hopyard in Ontario, possibly later this year.
“Hopyards are our baby,’’ says Ross. “We see Hopyard having a very bright future.’’
He says the Sugar Skull Cantina will open in May, either under Ross and Hogan or under new ownership.
The asking price for the business is $164,999. The building, which was the home of Sirenella Ristorante for 32 years when it closed on Nov. 1, 2015, is being leased by Ross and Hogan.
“We have had a lot of showings, especially right off the bat,’’ says Ross.
The property has received extensive renovations including a large patio, a new bar installed, and two new washroom facilities.
