CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The P.E.I. Brewing Company is hosting its first-annual Oktoberfest event and launching a new beer beginning on Oct. 4.

According to the company, the Okto-beer-feast, which runs Oct. 4-5, is an Island version of the traditional event with local beer, food (including food trucks) and live entertainment.

Some of the activities planned include washer toss, cornhole and axe throwing competitions.

Day one of the event will also see the release of Gahan House’s new seasonal beer – Scarlet Rae Helles Lager.

“We have been wanting to do an Oktoberfest event at the brewery for some time now. With the planned release of our new German-style Helles Lager the timing was perfect. We’re excited to get beer and food lovers out for Oktoberfest with a P.E.I. twist,” Ryan Feldman, P.E.I. Brewing Company’s taproom general manager, said in a press release.

The event has an entrance fee of $10 per day. As well, beer lovers’ tickets cost $15 per days and the Hollerado Show costs $30.

More information about tickets, including event food tickets, and the event is available at www.peibrewingcompany.com.
